Nature’s Tears Gel Lubricant Eye Drops provides soothing relief from dry,irritated eyes with a formula that resembles your body’s own Tears in a sterile aqueous base q.s. Nature’s Tears Gel contains a Unique mild non-sensitizing preservative ,when used ultimately changes into components of natural Tears (sodium chloride & water)Used for long-lasting relief of your dry,irritated eyes.
COMPOSITION
Carboxymethyl Cellulose IP 1% w/v
Stabilized oxychloro complex 0.005% w/v
(As preservative in a sterile aqueous base q.s)
Excipients: Boric acid,calcium chloride dehydratesmagnesiumchloride hexahydtrate sodium borate
Dehydrates sodium chloride potassium chloride.
INDICATIONS
For temporary relief of burning irritation and discomfort due to dryness of the eye to due to exposure to wind or sun.Also may be used and protective against natural irritation.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Nature’s Tears Gel contraindicated patients with hypersensitivity to CMC or any of the exceipients.
PHARMACODYNAMIC PROPERTIES
No clinical pharmacology studies were performed with Nature’s Tears Gel CMC has no Pharmacological receptor mediated properties.The mode of action of CMC is based on its physical properties which provide a lubricant effect and prolonged residence time in the eye.CMC increases tear viscosity and has pseudo-elastic (i.e. shear thinning)properties Since CMC is an ionic polymer containing carboxyl and hydroxyl groups,its chemical structure is similar to mucin in the tear him,and thus it has mucoadhesive properties.These properties promote-prolonged residence times in the eye which alleviate the symptoms of tear deficiency.
PHARMACOKINETIC PROPERTIES
No clinical or nonclinical pharmacokinetic studies have been performed CMC is pharmacological Inset and due to its high molecular weight is not expected to be absorbed systematically after the topical administration of Nature’s Tears Gel.
WARNING AND PRECAUTIONS
To avoid contamination or possible eye injury,do not touch tip of the bottle or vial to any surface and Avoid contact with the eye.Replace the cap tightly after using. Do not use it Nature’s Tears Gel Packaging shows evidence of tampering. Do not use if solution changes colour or becomes cloudy. Discontinue use of Nature’s Tears Gel” and consult a doctor if you experience eyes pain,changes in Vision , continued redness or irritation of the eye , or the condition worsens , Use before the expiration date marked on the container.
USE IN PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
There are no specific study data on the use of Nature’s Tears gel during pregnancy and lactation in humans, however nonclinical studies with CMC have not demonstrated any harmful effects in pregnancy Nature’s Tears Gel has also not been studied in breast-feeding Women, however, CMC is not expected to be systemically absorbed therefore, it would not be expected to be excreted in human breast milk.
PEDIATRIC USE :Safety and effectiveness have not been demonstrated with Nature’s Tears Gel In pediatric patients.
GERIATRIC USE :No overall difference in safety or effectiveness have been observed between elderly and other adult patients.
EFFECTS ON ABILITY TO DRIVE AND USE MACHINES
Nature’s Tears Gel may cause transient blurring of vision which may impair the ability to drive or Operate machines. The patient should wait until their visions has cleared before driving or using machinery.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Summary of Adverse Drug Reaction in Clinical Studies of Nature’s Tears Gel are described below.Eye discharge (13.2%) Eye irritation, burning and discomfort (3.8%), Eye pruritus (1.9%),Palpebral hyperemia (1.9%) Visual disturbance (22.6%)
POST MARKETING EXPERIENCE
There following additional adverse reactions have been identified during post marketing use of Nature’s Tears Gel In clinical practice. Because post marketing reporting of these reactions is Voluntary and from a population of uncertain size, it is not always possible to reliably estimate the frequency of these reactions. Eye pain, eyelid margin crushing and/or medication. Residue foreign body sensation in eyes, ocular hyperemia, Hypersensitivity including eye a allergy.
OVERDOSE
Instill 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye (s) as needed if used for post-operative care (e.g. following LASIC surgery), It is recommended for the patient to follow their eye doctor’s instructions. Concomitant ocular medications should he administered at least 5 minutes apart from the instillation of Nature’s Tears Gel to avoid washout effects.
